Sonja Basic: General Manager
Hailing from Brisbane, Sonja moved to the West last year and is still in search of the best yum cha in Perth.
She studied journalism and international relations at the University of Queensland, graduating with honours in 2005 and holds research, education, radio and government experience.
After spending time overseas, she accumulated some eclectic (but useful) experiences. They include teaching English at a teacher training college, editing travel guidebooks, volunteering with sea turtles and working for a war crimes tribunal.
A long-time advocate for youth arts and involvement, Sonja has volunteered with Vibewire youth media, youth development and youth radio programs at home and abroad.
In love with the spoken, sung and written word through foreign languages, closet karaoke and satirical essays – she looks forward to lending her voice (off-key or not) to Propelarts.
