The Training Course Finder
The Federal Government's Training Course Finder is an online database that allows users to find information on Australian education and training programs for the cultural sector.
The database contains over 1,500 training courses from over 240 organisations.
These include organisations from TAFE institutes, private providers, enterprises and industry associations with qualifications ranging from certificate through to degree and post graduate level. It also includes annual workshops and short courses. Each course is categorised in one or more of the following areas:
- arts management
- film, television, video and radio
- music
- visual arts and crafts
- community arts
- libraries
- new media
- writing and publishing
- design
- museums, heritage
- theatre, dance
- indigenous
So go search for the course which is right for you!
TAFE
Check out your local TAFE college
They offer a wide range of arts courses.
In addition to the full time and part time certificate and diploma courses whcih repreent a formal qualification, there are a range of ACE Short Courses which anyone can try - usually without any prerequisites.
There are four colleges in metropolitan Perth:

The Film and Television Institute runs courses in animation and multimedia, screenwriting, producing for the screen, and video production.
SAE runs accredited courses in sound mixing and engineering, multimedia, and video production.
The Perth Actor’s Collective (PAC) runs short courses for actors, script writers and directors.
Industryi provides training for people with disabilities in the areas of digital photography and video editing.
Institute for the Nations – Australia is a Christian training organisation that has courses in performing arts, video production, events management and multimedia with a strong Christian flavour.
VISUAL ARTS AND CRAFTS
Fremantle Arts Centre has an extremely wide range of visual arts workshops available.

The Vocational Training and Education Centre
at the Kalgoorlie and Esperance Curtin campuses run a range of both short and long arts courses. A TEE score is not required for admission.
The Blender Community Art Gallery in Joondalup runs a wide range of visual arts workshops.
